For Patients

Patient Information

If you need further information, please contact your physician with additional questions.
  • What Should I Expect When I Arrive At The Center?

You should arrive at the time designated by your physician's office unless the Surgery Center makes an adjustment to your scheduled time. You will be asked to sign a Consent Form, acknowledging your understanding of the procedure and permission for your doctor to perform the scheduled procedure. A nurse will review a health history during the pre-op interview. Anesthesia personnel will consult with you in the pre-operative area also.

Your physician performs the procedure with the support of our experienced staff. After your procedure, you'll be transferred to our fully equipped recovery room where you will be attended by your anesthetist and recovery room nurses until you are ready to go home.

The center's staff, policies, procedures, equipment and ancillary service meet the highest national standards for safety and medical protocol. Experienced nurses, technicians and support staff are trained and qualified according to the same stringent criteria required in the finest hospitals. While problems rarely occur, our Center is fully equipped with all necessary staff and equipment to care for a patient who has an unexpected occurrence.

  • How Can I Prepare For My Procedure?

DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING

(Unless otherwise instructed), Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the day before your procedure. Undigested food in the stomach can cause complications and your procedure is likely to be postponed if you forget.

    BATHE OR SHOWER

Bathe or shower on the morning of your procedure to minimize the chance of infection. Teeth may be brushed but DO NOT swallow any water.

    REFRAIN FROM SMOKING

If you experience any health changes between your most recent visit to your doctor and the day of your procedure, notify your physician. Please report even minor changes such as elevated temperature, cough or cold.

You must arrange for an adult to be at the surgery center to drive you when you leave. You cannot drive yourself home after your procedure.
